Last updated: June 8, 2026
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Tallk collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information in connection with the Tallk beta website, app, and related services.
Tallk is currently operated by an individual solo developer. The current website is https://trytallk.com. Contact: huyenanh24042k4@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Tallk.
- Account data, such as email address, display name, authentication identifiers, password authentication status, verification status, and reset-password activity.
- Profile and onboarding data, such as target language, native language, level, goals, learning preferences, and settings.
- Learning content, such as chat messages, prompts, role-play responses, corrections, re-expressions, translations, vocabulary entries, notebooks, saved words, and learning history.
- Voice-related data, such as audio input, transcripts, text-to-speech requests, speech-to-text requests, and related metadata when voice features are used.
- Credit and usage data, such as credit balance, signup bonus, daily refill, reserved credits, captured credits, operation IDs, feature keys, cost records, and usage limits.
- Technical and diagnostic data, such as request IDs, error logs, timestamps, browser or device information, security events, and information automatically processed by hosting/security providers.
3. How we use information
- To create and manage your account.
- To provide AI conversations, corrections, native expressions, vocabulary support, translation feedback, voice features, and learning history.
- To store your sessions and learning progress so you can review previous practice.
- To manage beta credits, prevent abuse, estimate cost, and keep the service available.
- To personalize the learning experience based on your language profile and saved learning data.
- To debug, secure, monitor, and improve Tallk.
- To respond to support, privacy, security, and data deletion requests.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. AI processing
Tallk sends user-provided text, prompts, chat context, correction requests, vocabulary requests, translation requests, and voice-related input to third-party AI providers when needed to generate the requested feature.
Tallk does not currently use your personal learning content to train a Tallk-owned AI model during beta. However, third-party AI providers process data according to their own terms, privacy policies, and service configurations. We aim to use providers and settings appropriate for service delivery and safety.
- Do not submit passwords, government IDs, financial account details, medical records, or other highly sensitive information into AI conversations.
- AI output may vary depending on the model/provider used.
- Generated corrections are learning suggestions and may be wrong or incomplete.
5. Authentication and third-party services
Tallk uses third-party services to operate the product. These services may process information as service providers or independent controllers depending on their role and terms.
- Supabase for authentication, session management, database, and related backend services.
- Cloudflare for domain, DNS, security, caching, and traffic protection.
- Railway or similar hosting infrastructure for backend deployment.
- Third-party AI providers, such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, and similar providers used for language, voice, or AI features.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google after that feature is enabled.
- Reddit, LinkedIn, Instagram, and email providers if you use community or contact links.
6. Cookies and local storage
Tallk may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies for essential functions such as authentication, session persistence, security, preferences, language settings, and product operation.
Tallk does not currently use advertising cookies in the beta version. If analytics or advertising technologies are added later, this policy and the Cookie Notice should be updated.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or transmit information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy.
- With infrastructure, authentication, database, hosting, security, and AI providers needed to provide Tallk.
- When you choose to post in public community spaces, such as Reddit, where your post may be visible to others.
- When necessary to investigate abuse, security incidents, or violations of the Terms.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity.
8. Data retention
During beta, Tallk generally retains account data, learning history, chat content, vocabulary data, correction data, and credit records while your account is active so that the product can provide history, progress, and continuity.
For inactive accounts or old learning content, Tallk may retain data for up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed for security, abuse prevention, legal obligations, backups, accounting, or service integrity. You may request deletion earlier.
- Credit ledger, abuse-prevention, and security records may be retained longer when needed for audit or service integrity.
- Backups may take additional time to expire.
- Aggregated or anonymized data that no longer identifies you may be retained for product analytics and improvement.
9. Your choices and rights
- You may access and update certain account or profile information through the product where available.
- You may delete certain saved learning items, such as vocabulary entries, where the app supports it.
- You may request account or data deletion by email or through the in-app deletion flow if available.
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal data.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for a beta product, including authentication, security tooling, infrastructure protections, and access controls where available. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
11. Children’s privacy
Tallk is intended for users who are at least 16 years old and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to Tallk, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. International processing
Tallk may process and store information in countries other than your country of residence, depending on the infrastructure, database, hosting, and AI providers used to provide the service.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tallk changes, including when new providers, analytics, payment, or mobile app features are introduced.
